As our Localization Project Manager, you will be based in our Berlin office but will be part of a global Localization team located in our Beijing, Seoul and San Francisco offices. Your work will have direct impact on Kabam's worldwide success by ensuring AAA quality of our games to our worldwide audience.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Manage the localization process of our games that are translated into more than 12 languages including high growth markets in EMEA and Asia
- Lead a group of localization coordinators who manage day to day localization and translation efforts for various products and services for these markets
- Manage deal terms for all third party localization vendors
- Ensure a high level of quality for the localized text and coordinate frequent linguistic quality assurance tests in cooperation with 3rd party and internal resources
- Perform analysis of current third party localization, proofreading, editing and LQA processes and proactively identify potential optimizations and implement creative solutions to challenges
- Collaborate with the Studio Localization Producer to provide assets for localization and assist in maintaining Translation Memories and tracking budget
- Plan, schedule and monitor the progress of multiple localization projects and deliver timely and accurate reports concerning project status
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Native or near-native level in at least one, and preferably two, of the following languages: German, French, Russian, Turkish, Italian or Spanish
- Fluency in English
- Minimum 2 years experience in game or consumer entertainment product translation/localization; minimum 5 years project management experience with a consumer facing tech product, preferably involving multiple languages
- Managerial experience of several direct reports
- Language enthusiast with the ability to effectively communicate and resolve linguistic issues
- Avid gamer with a solid understanding of free-to-play games, mobile games and game genres such as strategy, RPG, action and racing
- Ability to work flexibly and effectively with partners located in various Kabam offices around the world
- Superior attention to detail
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE
- General knowledge of video game terminology for English and respective language fluency; ability to adopt use of language to different game genres and themes
- Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office products as well as good general computer skills
- Project management tool fluency a plus
- Quality Assurance process familiarity a plus
- Ability to overseeing multiple projects simultaneously, deal with tight deadlines and time pressure
- Good team player; experience working in a multi-cultural and global team is a plus
- A degree in translation, localization or linguistics a plus
- Prior experience in video game or consumer entertainment product localization, testing or Project Management
