Airbus (Blagnac) is looking for an intern for a 1 year internship.
You will be part of a small political affairs team which deals with government relations - mainly in United Kingdom, France, Germany and Spain - with key stakeholders for the department, namely senior internal management team, members of parliament, civil servants, and members of foreign embassies and representatives of local and regional government.
The department has a wide-ranging and responsible role, so you can expect to be involved in a variety of activities during the placement.
You will be part of the small GDR team based at the company headquarter in Toulouse (Central Entity). Some team members are based outside Central Entity (Madrid, Washington D.C.). You will work on a daily basis under the control of Head of Political Affairs Germany. Yet, the scope is not limited to Germany. Supporting the work of Head of Political Affairs in its role as leader and coordinator of the GDR team is one key element of the internship.
You will work on the following issues:
- Briefing notes to GDR team members on various issues,
- Letter drafting (German and English),
- Update presentations on various issues,
- Organization and execution (minutes) GDR weekly meeting based on directions by Head of GDR,
- Follow-up issues by phone (German or English speaking interlocutors).
Travels within Europe might be requested.
This internship will start on the 1st of August 2011 (is subject to a certain flexibility).
Tasks
Your responsibilities will include:
1. Organizational support:
- Improving the organizational set-up of the department, e.g. by taking over responsibility for minutes of weekly meetings or by preparing and keeping standard presentations up to date.
2. Public Policy research:
- Providing a tracking and monitoring service of key public policy developments which may affect the company e.g. environment, manufacturing, skills and training legislation,
- Analysing policy developments and preparing briefings for internal and external company use,
- Preparing presentations on public policy issues.
3. Government Relations:
- Providing support for the Vice President, Head of Political Affairs, or other members of the GDR team in terms of executive briefings,
- Assisting with VIP visits to Airbus sites,
- Assisting with event planning and implementation of government affairs events.
Profile
You are in last year of business school, master or university (5th year) and are specialized in Political Sciences.
You have knowledge in:
- Political affairs,
- Microsoft Office tools,
- Internet.
You have the following qualities:
- Ability to write clearly and simply,
- Having a polite and professional telephone manner,
- Good team player,
- Good analytical skills,
- Self-motivation and autonomy.
You have strong interest in politics and aircraft industry.
- English: Fluent / Negotiation level
- German: Fluent / Negotiation level
