Your tasks and responsibilities

  • You closely collaborate with research institutes, universities and industrial partners, including material suppliers, looking for novelty solutions in assembly processes (e.g. drilling) and fastening systems.
  • You give technical input in (and potentially lead) different R&T projects, working together with all Airframe R&T M&P community, identifying M&P assembly needs for the different components of tomorrow and future industrial system, in a fully transnational way, ensuring corresponding activities and projects (Time/Cost/Quality/Performance).
  • You proactively look for synergies on the wide Airbus M&P community scope, making the link to the transnational M&P R&T community and working closely with manufacturing engineering, R&T program and project managers.
  • You are airframe M&P R&T key contributor to national funded contracts / bodies in Germany (E.g. LuFo), identifying new M&P assembly initiatives together with manufacturing engineering contribution and alignment, identifying key M&P R&T initiatives to maximize external funding
  • You seek for continuous improvement and simplification.

Qualifications

  • You hold an academic degree in Engineering related to Materials, Mechanics or similar.
  • You have several years of experience on assembly processes, with an overall Materials & Processes background (e.g. composite, metal, surface & paint, non destructive methods ). Manufacturing Engineering / Manufacturing background would be a plus. Experience on working with Final Assembly Line (FAL) or Pre-FAL would be a differentiator. -You have experience in Project (Lifecycle) Management. Experience with Partner & Subcontractor Management would be a plus.
  • You are able to work across functions and create a team atmosphere. -You have excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to evaluate and assess complex issues.
  • You are motivated by changing environments and like to think out of the box. -Your English is at negotiation level; German would be a plus. -You are able to do some travel for business.
