V.I.E. VIS Catalyse hetrogene, Berlin

Arkema is recruiting a post doctoral contract. The candidate will be working inside a mutidisciplinary team, under the supervision of Pr Kemintz (Humbolt University).

Missions

• The candidate will be in charge of preparing new Metal Fluorides type catalysts, according to a new sol-gel chemistry developed by the Institute;
• he (she) will characterize the solid phase physical and physico-chemical properties of the catalysts (crystallinity, porosity, surface composition..)
• In a second step, he(she) will test the catalytic activity of the catalysts obtained in some model fluorination reactions and will characterize features like yields and selectivities of said reactions.

Profile

• With appropriate techniques he (she) will determine the mechanisms behind the cataytic activity (e.g. role of porosities, specific absorption sites, donor/acceptor features etc) and propose direction to improve catalysts' efficency in the model chemical recations.
• The candidate will be interacting regularly with the industrial sponsor through scheduled meetings and presentations and will write progress reports.
• PhD, Doctorat
• PhD Thesis either in heterogeneous catalysis or in Solid state Chemistry
