Our client is a leading company for short-term power trading in Europe, based in Paris and Leipzig.
We are looking for a highly motivated:

Middle/ Back office Operator (f/m) Power trading, Paris

Your role

The Operator will report to the Heads of Market Operations in Paris, and will work in close cooperation with the Market Operation team in Leipzig, Germany.

Production:

  • Savings markets: ensure order correctness and system checks, follow check-lists and procedures,
  • production incident management and coordination with our partners
  • Daily contact with our members/clients: answering clients questions and needs (passwords,
  • platform/system use, technical and procedural questions, etc.), coordination of clients set-up in
  • the trading systems
  • Daily contact/check with the back-office partners (ECC - European Commodity Clearing) for trade settlements
  • Regular system setup (member and instrument referential)

Change management & quality process:

  • Participation in projects: change management and overall project follow-up for Market Operation department such as specifications, internal testing, member simulation, procedures and check-list update, team training, preparation work with European partners
  • Client service follow-up: client visits with Sales, support for system and market operation
  • processes presentation, preparation of members communication
  • Overall coordination meetings: internal and external (operational committees)
  • Regular updates of internal and shared operational documentation (procedures and workflows)
  • Active participation in the Market Operations training modules: assist regular trainings on system
  • and incident management (internally and externally with members)

Your profile

  • Education: Master II level or equivalent in Energy Business or Financials/Banks
  • A first working experience or internship experience in front offices or back-/middle-offices in a financial institution would be welcome
  • Fluent in French and English (written and verbal), German would be appreciated
  • Knowledge of IT tools: MS-Office pack (good knowledge of Excel appreciated), Powerpoint, Access.
  • Good ability to learn/work with different/various systems (trading tools, data management tools, etc.)
  • Able to work in stress situation and able to focus on main/vital tasks
  • Very good written and verbal communication skills
  • First experience in the Energy Sector would be appreciated
  • High ability to work within a multi-cultural team
  • Methodic, rigorous, flexible and proactive.
