Kabam is looking for a full-time Translator. As our French Game Translator, you will be based in our Berlin office but will be part of a global Localization team located in our Beijing, Seoul and San Francisco offices. Your work will have direct impact on Kabam's success by ensuring AAA quality of our games to our French speaking players.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Localize our games for the French speaking market, ensuring high quality and consistency
- Translate, adapt and proofread game scripts, tutorials and various consumer facing documentation and promotional marketing materials including advertising copy
- Ensure a high level of quality for the localized version of the game by conducting frequent linguistic quality assurance for our games
- Report and resolve all French localization related issues
- Work with the development and marketing teams to ensure that games are contextually and culturally French player appropriate and appealing as well as linguistically accurate
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Native French speaker with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Impeccable French spelling and grammar
- Proficiency in English
- Prior experience in video game or consumer entertainment product localization in French
- Avid gamer with solid understanding of free-to-play games, mobile games and game genres such as strategy, RPG, action and racing
- Superior attention to detail
- Strong creative writing ability
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE
- General knowledge of video game terminology for English and respective language fluency; ability to adopt use of language to different game genres and themes
- Solid working knowledge of MS Office products and good general computer skills
- Ability to multi-task and deal with tight deadlines and time pressure
- Good team player with proven ability to lead a team; experience working in a multi-cultural and global team is a plus
- A degree in translation, localization or linguistics
