Your roles and responsibilities
As a Consultant on the VIE programme you will work in a project team and support our clients in solving a technology challenge. Depending on your academic background and practical experience your assignment will involve a variety of project stages: technical/strategic studies, research and development and/or implementation. During your time on the VIE programme you will have the opportunity to work in a number of different projects and will be able to gather valuable experience in an international context.
The successful candidate will participate in research activities for the second generation of IMA (Integrated Modular Avionics) with focus on identifying and demonstrating improved maintenance solutions for modular avionics. The architecture and integration of the new maintenance concepts for IMA will be addressed, in order to develop a practical and innovative solution, to reduce system development time and maintenance costs. Diagnostic performances of future IMA2G health monitoring solutions should be assessed and demonstrated. For demonstration, simulations (SysML and C/C++) and functional mock-ups (C++) need to be developed and tested for well-chosen scenarios.
Your profile
- You have successfully gained your Master, university diploma or equivalent in electrical engineering, computer science, aeronautics or industrial engineering (with focus on electrical engineering) and you have initial experience in technical projects or in the field of consulting.
- Experience in the aerospace industry is required, especially in the field of avionics, IMA and/or systems.
In addition you should be familiar with one or more of the following programming approaches and technologies:
- SySML and Rhapsody (or other modeling solutions for systems or software engineering)
- Good knowledge of XML and XSD
- Preferably knowledge of XML tools like Altova XMLSpy
- C/ C++ programming experience (preferably real-time)
The following will be considered as an advantage:
- experience with aircraft and/or automotive manufacturer and/or supplier
- experience in validation and verification activities
- experience in maintenance methods
- knowledge in industrial processes
- Fluency in English is essential, German, French and/or other language skills will be considered as an advantage.
