Social media manager (m/f), Luxembourg

Missions

to raise its social media profile and support the newsroom with video production and digital journalism.

The social media manager will play a pivotal role in shaping the Luxembourg Times’ online identity, expanding our reach and driving traffic to our website, including paywall-protected content.

As the social media manager, you will:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy for the Luxembourg Times, identifying target audiences and tailoring content to their preferences.
  • Create and curate engaging, shareable and informative content (including posts, videos etc.) for the Luxembourg Times’ existing social media accounts and emerging channels.
  • Stay up-to-date on social media trends, tools and technologies.
  • Foster community engagement in a professional manner.
  • Use analytics tools to measure and report data, including performance, follower growth and engagement, referral traffic, and more.
  • Work closely with the editor-in-chief, publishing manager and journalists to provide actionable insight on key metrics.
  • Partner with marketing, subscription and data teams to align social media efforts with broader organisational campaigns and goals.
  • Align with the social media managers of our sister publications Luxemburger Wort, Virgule and Contacto to share knowledge and best practices in a collaborative environment.

Profile

  • A Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in communications, journalism, marketing or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a social media manager or similar role, ideally in a media organisation.
  • Passion for journalism and understanding of the challenges and opportunities that newsrooms face in the digital sphere.
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms and analytics tools, with the ability to interpret data and drive data-informed decisions.
  • Writing, editing and visual content creation skills (incl. tools such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign and Premiere, Canva and CapCut) with the ability to craft posts that align with the brand identity of the Luxembourg Times.
  • Familiarity with Luxembourg’s international community and audience will be considered an advantage.
  • English at native-speaker level. French and/or German will be considered an advantage.
