The mission of the thermal systems business group is to develop and manufacture systems, modules and components to ensure thermal energy management of the power train and comfort for each passenger, during all phases of vehicle use. These systems help to significantly reduce fuel consumption, CO2 emissions and other pollutants and harmful particles from vehicles equipped with internal combustion engines. They also increase travel range and battery life for hybrid and electric vehicles. At the Front Office in Bietigheim-Bissingen we are supporting Sale- and Project activities and compose the interface between the customers Daimler and Valeo-internal departments at the development from Thermal Systems.

Missions

  • Take on broad responsibilities in security and safety, focusing on Cybersecurity (ISO/SAE 21434), Functional Safety (ISO 26262) and quality tools (e.g. FMEA)
  • Support the improvements of security and safety processes into the V-model
  • Provide support for R&D and application projects with a focus on security & safety
  • Assist departments throughout the entire product security & safety lifecycle, from development to deployment of e.g control unit software
  • Ensure compliance with the product security & safety lifecycle in line with ISO/SAE 21434, ISO 26262 and relevant requirements such as UN R-155/-156
  • Drive continuously improvements in security & safety development lifecycle processes
  • Analyze and specify product security & safety requirements for automotive embedded systems
  • Conduct security & safety assessments, including threat and risk analyses, preliminary risk analyses and ASIL-quotations.
  • Initiate and implement security & safety concepts in collaboration with various departments to fulfill requirements
  • Provide advice and support to customers and internal development teams on these topics

Profile

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, electronics, mechanical engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in functional safety (ISO 26262), cybersecurity (ISO/SAE 21434), and quality management tools such as FMEA
  • Knowledge of ISO/SAE 21434 and ISO 26262 standards
  • Proficiency with quality tools and project management
  • Preferably, a background in the automotive industry
  • Structured and methodical approach to work
  • Proactive, hands-on mentality
  • Strong teamwork skills and broad technical knowledge and interests
  • Fluency in English and good skills in German
