The role

As a Project Manager in Advanced Analytics with a focus on data engineering, you are part of the Digital Consulting unit. You will work in agile teams to find solutions for the most far-reaching issues faced by our clients in different industries. It will be your responsibility to generate reliable, robust and efficient data models, thus creating the foundation for analytical models and convincing visualizations. What you'll do

• Act as the point of contact for colleagues and partners for new technologies, for existing and new products
• Identify and develop new solutions within the unit and with other partners
• Define the foundations for IT infrastructure and the basic setup and technological implementation of the unit's data management
• Integrate visualization tools like QlikSense and Tableau systematically to evaluate the quality of data as well as making results transparent and presenting effectively
• Work on the strategic direction and implementation process for data acquisition, processing and analysis and for implementing new standards that enable sustainable and efficient data processing
• Assume responsibility for existing projects and help colleagues to reach optimal results in the ETL process
• Work on making POCs operational and scalable (esp. using cloud solutions) and assume responsibility for the worldwide rollout of successful POCs
• Guide your colleagues and employees and supervise their professional development. As a mentor and coach, provide support for the next steps of their career

What you'll need

• Five to ten years of professional experience in data management, software engineering, big data or a similar field and proven experience in consulting. You've proven yourself with outstanding performance and understand the challenges of digitalization and how to develop digital solutions for diverse industries
• Extensive knowledge of data management and in developing analytics solutions as well as in-depth knowledge of building digital strategies as the interface of business and IT
• Fluent in programming languages like SQL and Python, also for extremely complex problems
• Visualizing data for quality assurance as well as results communication was a given in your past projects
• Extensive knowledge and experience with cloud technologies, especially AWS
• Broad knowledge and experience with cluster systems like Hadoop, Spark, SAP HANA
• Experience with the setting up, operating and scaling of containerized applications (e.g. Kubernetes)
• Outstanding degree from a university (master's/diploma/PhD) in business administration, management & technology, computer science, statistics, mathematics, physics, data science / engineering, machine learning or a related field
• Interest in new technologies in data management and machine learning, actively developing this knowledge and sharing it at internal and external conferences
• Extensive international work experience
• Excellent analytical and conceptual skills as well as an entrepreneurial mindset
• Highly developed communication skills in English, German is a plus
• Team player with strong interpersonal skills and willingness to travel (approx. 80 percent)
