In launching a new era in advanced materials and coatings, enabling critical solutions for semiconductor OEMs, Plastic injection moulding companies, high precision optics OEMs and other high value industries in Europe, we are seeking for our client for the Specialty Coatings business in Lyon

Production and Facilities Manager (m/f), Lyon

Principal Objective

The Production and Facilities Manager is responsible for the overall manufacturing operations of the Coating business in Europe by focusing on safety, service, quality and agility through supervision of staff and process improvements.

Principal Responsibilities

• Build-up operations site in Lyon - transfer capabilities, equipment installation and qualification and adherence to local regulations
• During the build-up phase, take on the role of project manager, coordinating and supervising day-to-day activities of external contractors and consultants, managing internal and external communications.
• Manage operations performance to meet production goals and metrics set in advance
• Recruit, supervise and lead direct reports
• Implement and monitor continuous quality improvement activities
• Lead efforts to improve or streamline processes and adopt best practices
• Ensure operations adherence to safety and compliance procedures
• Close cooperation with American Coating Division on technology transfer, quality, process improvements as well as management and customer related issues
• Report to General Manager of Specialty Coatings division based in USA

Qualifications

• Bachelor in Science Degree in Engineering or equivalent
• Minimum of 5 years of proven business experience in manufacturing or service plant management with supervisory responsibilities
• Work experience with advanced materials, PVD and PECVD coatings and vacuum technology
• Lean manufacturing knowledge
• Cost effectiveness and plant budget knowledge
• Project Management skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Organizational and leadership skills
• Flexibility
• Fluent in French and English
• Willingness to travel
