Missions
EN :
- Work as an enthusiastic researcher in a dynamic and scientifically exciting global network covering agro and pharma, bridging chemical research and data science.
- Be an active member of a multi-disciplinary team and work in close collaboration with other R&D functions and key stakeholders across the company
- Lead, where assigned, or actively participate in the progress of chemical class projects following the research organisation principles and in co-operation with the Chemical Class Phase Leader and/or Project Leader
- Lead a chemistry lab team with 1-3 technicians with the objective to design and synthesize innovative and safe molecules for fungicidal uses
- Apply modern chemistry and new technologies in the lab; and promote the use of new digital tools / technologies for the planning of syntheses as well as for structural optimization of agrochemicals (e.g. Computational chemistry)
- Actively participate to the general tasks and to the development and implementation of new technologies within Disease Control Chemistry Community
- Set objectives and give appraisal to the team
- Motivate and develop staff to full potential
- Ensure high safety standards and compliance in area of responsibilities
- Manage Intellectual Property proficiently based on internal and external results

- Travailler en tant que chercheur au sein d’un réseau scientifique global stimulant aussi bien agro que pharma, alliant recherche en chimie et science du numérique
- Être un membre actif d’une équipe pluridisciplinaire et travailler en collaboration étroite avec d’autres fonctions de la R&D et autres parties prenantes de l’entreprise
- Diriger, le cas échéant, ou participer activement à l'avancement de projets de la Phase Classes Chimiques en suivant les principes de l'organisation de recherche et en collaboration étroite avec le responsable de la Phase Classes Chimiques et / ou le chef de projet
- Être le leader d’un laboratoire agrochimique composé de 1 à 3 techniciens au sein du département Chimie Contrôle des Maladies afin d’identifier de nouveaux principes actifs fongicides.
- Mettre en œuvre les techniques et technologies modernes de chimie; et promouvoir l’utilisation des nouveaux outils / technologies numériques autant pour la planification des synthèses comme de l’optimisation structurale de produits phytosanitaires (eg Chemo-informatique).
- Participer activement aux tâches générales ainsi qu’au développement de technologies internes en matière de digitalisation au sein de la communauté Disease Control Chemistry
- Fixer les objectifs pour l’équipe, donner les évaluations ainsi que motiver et développer les personnes à la hauteur de leur potentiel
- Garantir de hauts standards de sécurité et des mesures de conformité, en prenant toujours en compte les lois, réglementations et directives ainsi que l’estimation et l’évaluation des risques potentiels de chacune des actions.
- Garantir une gestion appropriée de la propriété intellectuelle et de la documentation interne et externe de vos résultats.
Profile
- You are an international Organic Chemist (PhD level) with at least 6 years of foregoing industrial experience in Agrochemistry or Medicinal Chemistry
- Knowledge or experience in ‘in silico’ Chemistry or Computational Chemistry is appreciated.
- You have an excellent understanding of classical and modern synthetic methods as well as experience with modern lab tools.
- You understand the life sciences discovery process and like to work and learn together with other research disciplines, especially biology, biochemistry, toxicology and physico-chemistry. An experience as project leader is appreciated.
- You are innovative, curious, open to new approaches / technologies to shape the future of Research Disease Control (open innovation, technology scouting). You have high ability to solve problems, to structure and to simplify complex tasks, to challenge the status quo and to embrace change.
- You enjoy working in multidisciplinary teams, and your good communication & interpersonal skills as well as intercultural knowledge and understanding are your strengths to succeed in this position.
- Fluency in English is needed, basic knowledge in French and/or German is appreciated.
