French speaking Chief Accountant, Walluf

The successful candidate will have previous Accounting experience, gained from working in Finance Shared-Service-Centre or an International Organization. The Chief Accountant will be responsible for the financial and commercial management of a subsidiary in France, as well as managing other internal accounting of subsidiaries.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following, but are not limited to

• Compiles and analyzes financial statements and keeps management informed of area activities and of any significant problems
• Familiar with IFRS – International Financial Reporting Standards and French GAAP
• Familiar with French operative accounting, like filling-in forms for VAT declaration or social security contributions etc.
• Performs monthly account reconciliations of assigned Balance-Sheet Accounts
• Reviews contracts, orders, vouchers and transactions to ensure compliance with Accounting policies and procedures of our parent company
• Reviews expenses for EMEA entities by Cost Center on a monthly basis
• VAT Tax and Intrastat reporting – Ensures compliance with the filing deadlines
• Assists in the preparation of corporate tax returns package and Audit schedules

Expected Skills

• Ability to effectively communicate in the French language verbally and in writing, In English for internal business communication and in German to colleagues, management and external customers
• Detail Oriented
• Ability to understand the financial impact of the transactions
• Ability to read and interpret Accounting / Financial policies and procedures

Computer Skills

• Knowledge and understanding of automated financial and accounting reporting system, Oracle R12 ERP system a plus
• Proficient in MS Office applications, such as Excel, Word

Education and Experience

• Bachelor Degree in accounting, finance or related field
• 4-7 years work experience in area of cash management and accounting
• Experience with Oracle R12 ERP preferred (GL, AP, AR)
