Your tasks and responsibilities

  • You define the strategy and engineering guidelines for major data platforms jointly with the data architects and data stewards
  • You ensure efficient data access control mechanisms to different data sources both on-premises and cloud environments
  • You build an infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources including chemistry, biochemistry, and genetic information using state of the art data technologies
  • You are responsible for participating in the data warehouse by continuously improving ELT and ETL processes for the data lakes and data warehouses
  • You work with the platform development team to design and use tools for data logging and repeatable data tasks to accelerate and automate data scientist duties
  • You are responsible for processing, cleaning, structuring, and improving data model and building processes to support company-wide analytics

Who you are

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, management information systems, or a related discipline
  • You have experience in user experience modelling and maintaining information design, concept generation, and database architectures including mastery of Data Warehousing, Data Lakes, SQL, and NoSQL
  • You have a strong capability to manage implementation and maintenance of data architecture concepts and related platforms and data pipelines
  • You understand data quality standards and data curation processes
  • You know data pipelining, event driven architectures real time processing frameworks and workflow management tools (e.g., Airflow, Kafka, Spark, Storm, Hadoop, Data Migration Services, IoT, Kinesis, Athena, Glue, Lambda, DataFactory, etc.)
  • You have a result-oriented, motivated, and proactive personality with proven ability to efficiently work in global cross-functional teams reaching joint goals with evolving priorities
  • You have command of English, both written and spoken; a good working knowledge of the German or French language can be beneficial
