Responsibilities

As a Cryogenic & superconducting distribution components and cables R&T engineer (m/f),
you will be part of the team in charge of designing, manufacturing and testing DC/AC
distribution and cables components for a cryogenic and superconducting powertrain and you will have the following responsibilities :

  • Technical lead on development and prototyping the DC/AC distribution and cables components for the cryogenic and superconducting powertrain
  • Select good technologies and good partners for prototyping a DC/AC superconducting network (FCL, circuit breakers, cables, connectors…)
  • Design all components to ensure superconductivity state and performances in collaboration with partners
  • Prototype all the components and integrate them in a cryogenic loop
  • Integrate and test them in the cryo/superconducting powertrain
  • Evaluate performances and potential of a cryo-inverter for propulsive application
  • Drive industrial and academic partners.

Note that the contract for this position is a CDIC (Contrat Durée Indéterminée de Chantier), limited term contract for the duration of the project (estimated 3 years).

Your boarding pass

As the successful candidate you will be able to demonstrate some or all of the following skills
and competencies:

  • Background in electrical engineering
  • At least 10-20 years’ experience in distribution components (FCL, circuit breakers, cables, connectors...) for automotive, railway and/or aerospace from technology, design through prototyping and laboratory testing
  • Experience in superconducting/cryogenic technologies cables, FCL and/or Cryogenic circuit breakers
  • Demonstrated track record of end-to-end project execution
  • Well-built professional network within their domain of expertise, including academics, industrial players, consultants, entrepreneurs
  • Demonstrated ability to reason rigorously about technology or business models at varying levels of abstraction.
