The role and responsibilities

  • In your role as Bid Manager (f/m/d), you will be responsible for the timely preparation of competitive bids of high quality in close cooperation with the sales team, technical specialists, partner business units, legal supports, suppliers, and the HQ in Germany.
  • For this purpose, you will analyze the tender documents and site assessment reports, create bid strategies, and control the bid process from offer preparation until conclusion, while adhering to the bid preparation process and bid cost budget.
  • In this context, you will prepare the customized bid documentation as well as an optimized quotation costing under consideration of the target price.
  • You will proactively manage risks and opportunities during the bidding phase, thereby laying the foundation for successful project execution in the event of an order.
  • Close collaboration with the financial bid manager to ensure the achievement of the financial objectives of the bid
  • Ensuring proper handover of the win bid to the project execution team
  • Carrying out win-loss analysis to improve systematically the existing processes, procedures, tools and organizational know-how

Profile

Education and certification:

  • Engineering degree in the domains of electrical, mechanical, or civil engineering
  • Adequate levels of certifications required to intervene in low voltage and medium voltage projects as well as in electromobility installations and/or the level of experience and qualification required to acquire these certifications promptly (e.g. in France: “Habilitation Electrique”, “IRVE P1, P2 and P3 certification”, etc.)
  • Formal project management training & certification would be a plus

Experience:

  • 7 years of experience in managing comparable bids, ideally in the domains of electromobility, power distribution and/or grid access
  • 3 years of recent experience managing grid access processes with public utilities, ideally in France (e.g. ENEDIS PTF), alternatively in other European countries (UK, Germany, Italy, Spain)
  • 3 years of experience in electromobility business

Language:

  • Fluent in English and French. Other European languages would be a plus (e.g. German, Spanish, Italian)

Technical:

  • Capacity to estimate, judge and challenge the technical and economic dimensions and KPIs of an electromobility bid (power, nominal value of equipment, cabling, timing, costs, etc.)
  • Knowledge about the technical and regulatory framework applicable to electromobility and grid access projects (“IRVE”, “habilitation”, electrical norms, etc.)
