V.I.E. System Engineer for Perfomance Validation of ECS Architectures, Hamburg

Tasks

The jobholder maintains the capability of the design office to predict the expected environmental control system (ECS) performance and functional behaviour of selected system architectures.

ECS comprises air conditioning system, temperature control system, ventilation system, cabin pressure system, bleed air system and wing anti ice system.
This is to be carried out by means of modelling of system architectures with functional or 1D tool and its employment for system performance analyses.

Thereby he/she collaborates at the definition and sizing of system architectures jointly with the system architect and contributes to a significant extent to the selection of the preferable system architecture and the optimal system sizing on aircraft level.

• Prepare or modify functional/1D simulation models
• Validate those models with real test data, e.g. from flight tests
• Analyze the system functional behaviour and performance by means of application of those models and document the results in technical reports
• Understand the ECS system architecture and its key features
• Once this understand is sufficiently built-up, discuss with system specialists and architects about possible system improvements and carry out respective simulation studies to support those discussions

Your skills

• System engineering background
• Knowledge in simulation tools like Matlab/Simulink Dymola Modellica is a plus
• Fortran or C knowledge would be helpful
• English fluent is mandatory, German helpful
• Previous experience in working abroad is appreciated
• Capability to work in a international team
