In order to build on the success of the "Volontariat international en entreprise" (VIE) programme we are looking for volunteers in the field of technology and R&D consulting at ALTRAN in Germany for a period of approximately 12 months (negotiable).

Your roles and responsibilities

• As a Consultant on the VIE programme you will work in a project team and support our clients in solving a technology challenge.
• Depending on your academic background and practical experience your assignment will involve a variety of project stages: technical/strategic studies, research and development and/or implementation.
• During your time on the VIE programme you will have the opportunity to work in a number of different projects and will be able to gather valuable experience in an international context.

Your profile

• You have successfully completed your MSc, Diploma (or equivalent) in physics and have already gained professional experience in technical projects or in consulting. In addition you are familiar with one or more of the following areas:

• Optical design - design and dimensioning of optical systems
• Optical measurement and simulation - laser measuring system, qualification of von components, simulation of the optical characteristics
• Manufacturer process of optical components - processing, coating, process development
• Active optical elements - laser, receiver, modulators
• image processing, image recognition und environment simulation, physiological aspects (MMI)
• System design and optimization - optics, mechatronics, vacuum systems
