Position Overview

We are currently looking for a detailed self-starter to join our Corporate Development team. This person will be ultimately located in the Southern Germany area after having after an initial training period of approximately 6 months split between Vancouver, Canada and Lyon, France.
The overall objective for this role is to serve the strategic and operational needs of Westport's partnership with Westport's OEM partners. The position is responsible for contributing to the pursuit, capture, management oversight and the successful operational execution of projects with Westport's OEM partners in Southern Germany

Position Responsibilities

  • Provides oversight and ensures delivery of projects involving our partnership with Westport's OEM partner(s) and serves as the operational interface between the Westport engineering and business teams and Westport's OEM partner(s).
  • Leverages relationships with Westport's OEM partner(s) to expand our commercial and other contributions while continuing to grow an even more productive relationship.
  • Serves as the first point of contact with Westport's OEM partner(s) on any issues or opportunities that may emerge during the tenure of the relationship.
  • Maintains and grows key relationships within the Westport's OEM partner(s) organization to ensure the interests of both Westport and the partner are always considered in all aspects of the ongoing relationship.
  • Develops and maintains internal relationships at all levels in Westport to support the overall growth and success of the company's employees and their understanding of the importance of the partner relationship.
  • Networks within industry organizations, technical seminars, and trade shows, including the delivery of presentations that highlight Westport's program with Westport's OEM partner(s) and other partners.

Position Requirements

  • A degree diploma in engineering and a MBA in general management or equivalent background
  • At least 10+ years of work experience with the automotive industry experience within the automotive and/or commercial vehicle industry.
  • A demonstrated understanding of both technical and business issues involved with developing and bringing to market disruptive technology products/solutions
  • Previous experience in leading commercial activities with partners/customers and in managing key customer accounts involving highly technical content
  • Excellent relationship building/maintaining and project management skills
  • A broad understanding of engine technologies
  • Experience with various business contractual agreements and licensing knowledge as assets
  • Strong organizational and coordinating abilities, working across functional and organizational boundaries
  • Must be fluent in German and English.
